TopHouse Historic Guesthouse is under new management ( since October 2012). Built in 1887 for drovers and weary travellers the cob building offers a huge amount of atmosphere along with open fires in the lounges. Great for the cooler days and chilly evenings.
Steeped in history, if the walls and long dining table could talk, they would be able to tell a thousand stories. We know a few and delight in telling them!

How to get here.
TopHouse is located 1 hours scenic drive south from Nelson, west from Blenheim and east from Motueka. Coming from Picton we are an easy 1.5 hours drive via Riwaka and the winefields of Marlborough. TopHouse is a great stopping off point if you are on your way ( another 1.5 hours) to the West Coast and just 10 mins drive from St Arnaud and Lake Rotoiti in the Nelson Lakes National Park. The Tasman region in which TopHouse is located is also home to another 2 of New Zealand's 14 National Parks: The Abel Tasman National Park and Kahurangi National Park.
