Located just 8kms from the village of St Arnaud and on the edge of the Nelson Lakes National Park, TopHouse is a gem in the Nelson Tasman region. Built in 1887 for drovers and weary travellers the cob building offers a huge amount of atmosphere along with open fires in the lounges. Great for the cooler days and chilly evenings.
Steeped in history, if the walls and long dining table could talk, they would be able to tell a thousand stories. We know a few and delight in telling them!
TopHouse offers family friendly/ backpacker accommodation in chalets and boutique B&B accommodation in the historic house along with homestyle meals in cosy suroundings and drinks from New Zealand's smallest pub. TopHouse is a destination from which you can go on day trips to discover a diversity of scenery and activities in Marlborough, Nelson, Tasman & WestCoast regions.
Dinners in the intimate lounge by our raging fire are an experience. See cafe for more information on our specialties.
French, German, Dutch, English spoken.
TopHouse is available for community groups ( meetings, workshops) and for groups.
